The Story Behind Oliver Jorg
When I started Oliver Jorg, I wasn't trying to create another tie brand.
I wanted to create something that reflected the world I grew up around - a world of horse racing, country pursuits, British craftsmanship, and timeless style. Pieces that feel just as appropriate in the Royal Enclosure at Ascot as they do on a day in the countryside or at an evening event.
Too often, I found that ties were either overly traditional or driven by fast-changing fashion trends. There seemed to be very little in between. I wanted to design something that respected classic British style while bringing a fresh perspective through colour, storytelling and carefully considered design.
Inspired by the Sport We Love
Horse racing has always been at the heart of Oliver Jorg.
The traditions, colours and heritage of British racing provide endless inspiration. Every meeting has its own atmosphere. Every racecourse has its own character. From the elegance of Royal Ascot to the excitement of Cheltenham and the summer style of Glorious Goodwood, these occasions deserve accessories that feel equally special.
Rather than producing obvious novelty designs, each Oliver Jorg tie features subtle repeating motifs that reveal themselves over time. They are conversation starters rather than statement pieces - recognisable to those who know, yet understated enough to wear anywhere.
Whether it's racing silks, bridles, horseshoes, polo equipment or countryside wildlife, every design begins with a story.
Designed with Purpose
Creating each collection is a lengthy process.
Every motif is hand developed before being digitally refined, scaled and tested across multiple samples until every detail feels right. Colour combinations are chosen carefully, ensuring they are easy to wear while remaining distinctive enough to stand apart.
Nothing is rushed.
If a motif isn't clear enough, it is redesigned. If the scale isn't quite right, it is adjusted. If the colours don't feel balanced, they are refined again.
The goal has always been simple: create ties that people genuinely want to wear for years, not just for one season.
British Heritage Meets European Craftsmanship
Quality has never been something we wanted to compromise on.
Every Oliver Jorg tie is designed in England before being printed in Macclesfield - the historic home of British silk printing. They are then hand-stitched in Italy using luxurious 100% silk, combining British design heritage with generations of Italian craftsmanship.
It's a process that takes longer than mass production, but it's one that ensures every tie meets the standard we expect.
More Than a Collection
As the brand has grown, Oliver Jorg has become much more than ready-to-wear collections.
We've had the privilege of creating bespoke ties for racehorse owners, syndicates, businesses and special occasions. Seeing someone's racing silks transformed into a tie they can wear proudly on race day has become one of the most rewarding parts of what we do.
Every bespoke project tells another story, and that's something we hope to continue for many years to come.
