Limited Edition Silk Ties: Why We Never Mass-Produce

At Oliver Jorg, we've never wanted to create ties simply to fill a catalogue.

Each design has a reason for being there - whether inspired by British racing, equestrian sport, the countryside or the traditions that surround them. That same thinking influences not only what we create, but how much of it we produce.

That's why we release many Oliver Jorg designs in deliberately limited quantities, keeping each collection more exclusive.

Made in Small Numbers

From the beginning, we wanted Oliver Jorg to feel different from mass-produced menswear, and that approach shapes how we make each tie.

Our ties go through a considered manufacturing process, from developing the original artwork and selecting colours through to printing the silk in England and hand-stitching each tie in Italy.

Producing in smaller quantities lets us stay selective about what we release and maintain the quality we expect from every Oliver Jorg tie.

It also means you're unlikely to walk into a racecourse enclosure, wedding or event and find several people wearing the same design, which makes it feel more distinctive.

For us, that matters.

Why We Don't Constantly Restock

When a design sells out, we don't automatically put it straight back into production, and that choice helps keep our collections evolving.

Some designs may return. Others may come back in a different colourway, while some may not return at all.

We like our collections to evolve.

Rather than continually reproducing the same designs, we want to leave room for new ideas, new motifs and new stories. Racing, equestrian sport and British country life provide an almost endless source of inspiration, and part of the enjoyment of building Oliver Jorg is deciding what comes next.

Each collection also marks its own moment in the brand's history.

A Little More Special

To us, luxury isn't simply about price.

It's about craftsmanship, provenance and owning something that doesn't feel mass-produced.

Knowing that only a relatively small number of people own the same Oliver Jorg tie adds something to the experience, and a particular design might remind you of a race meeting, a season, an occasion or simply a period in the brand's journey.

As Oliver Jorg grows, we want to protect that feeling of exclusivity.

We would rather create considered collections in smaller quantities than make every design permanently available.

The Next Chapter

Limited production also gives us the freedom to keep experimenting, which opens the door to new collections.

New collections let us explore different areas of British heritage and sport, introduce fresh colour palettes, and reinterpret some of the themes that have shaped Oliver Jorg from the beginning.

Some designs will become familiar favourites. Some will disappear. Others may return years later in a completely different form, and that unpredictability is part of the story.

That's part of what makes collecting and wearing them interesting.

Once they're gone, they might be gone for good, and that rarity is part of their appeal.

And that's part of what makes them rather special.

- Oliver Jorg
